Nine years ago at the age of 91, Edith Murway-Traina joined a gym after she was encouraged by a friend to become more "active."
She admits that she initially went "kicking and screaming," but now almost ten years later, "becoming more active" has turned into a world record.
Murway-Traina is now one of the most highly decorated senior powerlifters, and according to Guinness World Records, is officially the oldest competitive powerlifter in the world.
According to Men's Health, Murway-Traina paused her training and competing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As restrictions loosen, Murway-Traina is looking forward to entering competitions again.
