Flying in first class is an amazing experience that everyone should have at least once in their lives, apparently even at the expense of your kids.

A new survey per Scary Mommy has found that 40% of parents are willing to ditch their kids in coach on a flight if it means they'll be able to sit in first class.

Of course, this figure was highly dependent on the age of the child.

Less than 10% of parents said they'd leave a kid of "any age" alone in coach, and about the same said they'd be willing to leave a child under age 5. 9% said 10 years old is an appropriate age for kids to fly alone, 12% said they'd wait until their child was at least 12.

The majority of parents said the correct age for a kid to be left alone on a flight is 13-and-a-half.
