It's hard to believe, but more than 110 years have passed since that fateful day the greatest ship in the world met its early demise.

We are still learning things about the RMS Titanic though, and yesterday, the very first video taken of the sunken ship in 8k reveals details nobody has ever seen before.

The video comes courtesy of OceanGate Expeditions, whose crew members say the video is so sharp, they can "closely study parts that made up the ship such as the shackles and cranes that held the ship together."

Rory Golden, OceanGate Expeditions Titanic expert and veteran Titanic diver, said in a press release, "I can't recall seeing any other image showing this level of detail."

What's great about the video being in 8k is researchers can zoom in on the footage, while still maintaining 4k quality, which reveals a level of detail never seen before.  Brand names, colors, gears which had previously been unknown are now clear as day.

Golden added, "I had never seen the name of the anchor maker, 'Noah Hingley & Sons Ltd.,' on the portside anchor.  I've been studying the wreck for decades, and have completed multiple dives, and I can't recall seeing any other image showing this level of detail."

According to CBS News, OceanGate Expeditions is already planning for another Titanic expedition, which will embark in May, 2023.
