93-year-old Bonita Farmer constantly walks the halls of The Remington at Valley Ranch, a retirement community in Irving, singing a song she wrote: "I'm just a cowgirl looking for a cowboy."
Well thanks to the community's Executive Director Lori Griffo, Farmer's dreams came true.
She called Olde Tyme Carriage Company, a horse-drawn carriage service in Southlake, who absolutely jumped at the chance to find Farmer her cowboy.
Anne Murray got her husband Ken to dress the part, and greet Farmer at her home riding a horse while with yellow roses for Farmer, and invited her out to lunch. Griffo told NBC DFW, "Her dream date went off without a hitch! Bonita was so surprised, excited and overjoyed. Within a few minutes, Bonita was singing Ken the song that inspired today's Dream! It was very heartwarming."
While a lunch date is not something Olde Tyme Carriage Company usually provides the Murrays made a special exception becayse Bonita's story "pulled at their heartstrings and who could resist?"
