You know, there's a reason art museums tell you not to touch anything.

A woman at an art show in Miami decided to ignore the warnings, and poke one of Jeff Koons' famous dog-balloon pieces.  Guess what happened.

The piece tipped and fell to the floor, shattering in a million pieces.  The cost of the sculpture?  $42,000.

Stephen Gamson witnessed the incident, and according to CNN, believes the woman touched the sculpture to "see if it was an actual balloon."

Luckily for the woman, insurance will cover the cost of the incident.

Gamson went on to say that despite it breaking, he offered to buy the shattered pieces.

"I find value in it even when it's broken," he says. "To me, it's the story. It makes the art even more interesting."

No word on whether any such deal will go through.
