Flights through the United Kingdom will soon be getting streamlined!

British airports will soon be doing away with the rules regarding the size of liquids you can bring in your carry on, along with the removal of laptops and tablets from your bag when going through security.

Currently in British airports, along with those in the U.S., travelers are limited to bringing liquids on flights in containers no bigger than 100 milliliters, or 3.4 ounces.

However, according to the BBC, new high-tech 3D scanners will permit travelers to have liquids in containers holding up to 2 liters, which is around 68 ounces, in their carry-on luggage.

Thanks to the new scanners, travelers won't have to remove the liquids from their baggage at security checkpoints, and they will no longer have to remove laptops and other items as well!

Mark Harper, the UK's transportation secretary, said, "The tiny toiletry has become a staple of airport security checkpoints, but that's all set to change.

"I'm streamlining cabin bag rules at airports while enhancing security."

The scanners are already in use at airports in Milan, Amsterdam, and Shannon, Ireland, and though American airports including Chicago's O'Hare also have the scanners, the Transportation Security Administration says reports that it plans to lift its liquids rule by June 2024 are "absolutely not true."

Maybe one day.
