A Chick-fil-A employee in Florida is being praised after preventing a man from carjacking woman and her baby while they were outside the restaurant.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that the woman was getting a baby out of her vehicle outside the restaurant in Fort Walton Beach when the man approached her wielding a stick and demanded her keys.

43-year old William Branch then proceeded to GRAB the keys from the woman’s waistband and get inside the vehicle.

Chick-fil-A employee Mykel Gordon heard the screams of distress, rushed over to the woman’s car and got into a physical altercation with Branch, where police say Gordon was punched in the face.

Gordon was able to subdue Branch enough to where others could rush in and stop him from fleeing the scene.

Matthew Sexton, the operator of the Chick-fil-A branch, praised Gordon, and told CNN he is just relieved everyone is safe.

"I'm grateful for my amazing Team Member, Mykel Gordon, who so selflessly jumped in to intervene and help our Guests. I couldn't be prouder of his incredible act of care," he said.

Branch was arrested, and is facing charges of carjacking with a weapon and battery.
