Electric scooters could be making their way back to the city of Dallas.
After the scooters were introduced to the city in 2018, a slew of accidents and mishaps followed, leading the Dallas City Council to ban them in 2020.

However, following their two-year hiatus, the City Council will be meeting once again for a vote to potentially bring them back.
Of course, upon the scooters’ return, there would be some considerations.
According to Dallas News, the scooters won’t return all at once. Initially, only three companies will be allowed to operate 500 scooters in the city, with a bevy of restrictions on “when and how” these scooters can operate.
And supposedly, new technology will be able to hold riders more accountable for their actions.
Furthermore, the city has proposed developing an intricate set of parking restrictions, with the hopes of reducing the clutter the scooters made when parked erroneously that caused many complaints to the city.
The City Council will vote on the proposed plan June 22.
