Colleges and universities are still warning students about the dangers of LimeWire

It's probably been over 20 years since any of us downloaded music from LimeWire.  At the time, it was a revelation, to be able to get the latest music for free.

Well it wasn't really "free" as all those downloads were usually accompanied by a myriad of viruses that wrecked your computer.


By law, even though LimeWire was last updated in 2010, colleges and universities in the U.S. are required to warn students about the dangers of pirating music.

According to Torrent Freak, if schools disregard these warnings and fail to educate students about the dangers of pirating music, they could risk losing their federal funding.
