Connecticut governor Ned Lamont has issued an apology after making disparaging remarks about the city of Houston.
According to ABC 13, Lamont was appearing on a local radio program, when he was asked about going to Houston in order to cheer on the University of Connecticut in the NCAA basketball tournament.
Lamont said, "You walk around downtown Houston which is butt ugly...not much there."
The Houston Chronicle reports Lamont repeated his distaste for Houston again on ANOTHER radio program, calling the downtown area "kind of godforsaken."
Of course, word got back around to H-Town, and Houston mayor Sylvester Turner, who described Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont's comments about the city's as "indicative of a loser."
However, on Thursday Turner tweeted that he and Lamont had a conversation where the governor "apologized for the remarks he made about Houston following the Final Four."
Lamont, who is not an alum of UCONN, hasn't publicly commented about the apologetic call.
