This past Saturday, the friends and family of Courtney Wilson and Shenita Jones gathered at the beautiful "Wilson estate" to tie the knot.
The 16,313-square-foot home boasts nine bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a bowling alley, a theater, and an 800-square-foot bar. An amazing location for the couple's glorious nuptials.
The problem is, the mansion didn't belong to the Wilson family, and the couple did not have the mansion booked for the wedding, thinking it would be vacant the day of the ceremony allowing them free use of the venue.
Wilson had toured the home weeks earlier, posing as a potential buyer. Owner Nathan Finkel had been trying to sell the property for two years for $5.7 million.
Wilson had no interest in buying the home, but asked if he could use it for his upcoming wedding. Finkel told him "no," but that didn't stop Wilson and Jones from planning the ceremony there, and mailing out invitations requesting guests join them at the "Wilson estate."
Finkel actually lives on the property, and after noticing all the strangers called the police. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Finkel told the authorities, "I have people trespassing on my property . . . they say they're having a wedding here and it's God's message."
The police arrived, and cleared out the ceremony. No charges were filed.
