Many couples choose to name their baby in honor of a dear friend or relative; it's a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone important in their lives.
This couple from Northern Ireland took an extra step with that tribute, and named their baby after one of their favorite dishes from a local restaurant.
The Captain's Table in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland received an online order with a surprising note that left its employees in shock.
The order read: "Contact free delivery. My wife has just called our new born daughter Pakora after her fav dish from the Captain's Table...thought you'd like to know :)"
Pakora is a piece of vegetable or meat which has been coated in a seasoned batter and deep-fried, and this couple loved them so much at The Captain's Table, they NAMED their BABY after it!
Before you decide to name your baby "McNugget" or "Awesome Blossom," you should be aware that unfortunately, this was all an elaborate prank from The Captain's Table owner's wife, with the goal of bringing attention to their restaurant.
Hilary Braniff told the Mirror, "We're a fish and chip shop, which has been running in the family four generations now. The industry is in a very doom-and-gloom situation. The price of fish has gone through the roof, potatoes are about to as well.
Then you have VAT which has returned to 20% and we all know about the utility bills. Every day I check our fish and chip shop industry Facebook page and it's always bad news."
