What's the strangest thing you've ever found in your home left by the previous owner?
A couple was tearing up the carpet in their home when they found a painted, HUGE Monopoly board on their floor!
Many were quick to explain on Reddit that this was actually a typical trend in the '50s, especially with chilldren's playrooms.
One person wrote, "Showed this to my wife, and she reminded me that there's a whole neighbourhood near us, built in the mid-50s, that has game boards painted or tiled onto their basement floors. Seems to have been a selling point or something."
Another said, "My childhood home, which was built in the 60s, had a shuffleboard game tiled into our basement floor. My parents were the first owners, but I don't know if it was an option from the builder or they did it on their own."
According to Newshub, the couple's son-in-law has been trying to convince them to keep the Monopoly floor as a "focal point," but so far it seems his attempts have been unsuccessful.
