Last July, Cyndi Lauper's son Declyn was attending the memorial of a friend, a 14-year-old aspiring rapper named Ethan Reyes, when police found him inside a double-parked 2014 Mercedes Benz.
Police ran the plates, and discovered that the car was stolen. At the time, Lauper told the cops he was just "sitting in it," along with trying to explain who he was, telling the police "You probably know who I am."
Lauper was hit with a desk appearance ticket for unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree, along with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and appeared in court earlier this week.
The 24-year-old, who also raps himself, took a plea deal to avoid jail time, pleading guilty to disorderly conduct. He was ordered to complete five days of private community service and stay out of trouble for one year.
Lauper told The Post "It's definitely a blessing the case is over" as he left the courtroom accompanied by his dad.
