Some people might say the worst part about living in a neighborhood is the neighbors, and that's probably the exact sentiment this man on Reddit is feeling right about now.

He posted a picture of a letter he received from a "concerned" neighbor regarding the state of his lawn.

The note read:

Congratulations! You mowed. That's twice so far this year, I believe.
Can you keep it up? Maybe weekly? Or at least every other week?
Your neighbors would be very grateful if your house did not look like it was abandoned.

Of course, this guy was furious.  He explained in the post that though he hasn't cared for his lawn like he would've liked, at no point had it ever "been out of compliance with city or HOA ordinances, and at no point has anyone bothered to approach me directly about the matter."

Instead, someone just sent this snarky letter.

Oh and by the way, this guy has been singlehandedly taking care of his newborn and 5-year-old while his wife has been in the hospital recovering from postpartum complications!

Folks on Reddit were quick to rally around this guy, with many saying that his neighbor should have come to his house and spoken to him in person rather than assuming he was "just lazy."

One person wrote, "Nice 'welcome to the neighborhood' letter. Hopefully whoever it is hears why the mowing wasn't done and feels bad. I know I would."

Another person offered a different solution: "You should begin mowing your lawn regularly, but always leave the outline of a penis unmowed," they wrote.
