Dallas man wipes out millions in medical debt by selling NFTs of toilet paper as a joke

We're still not entirely sure the appeal of NFTs aka Non-Fungible Tokens, but they've taken off like gangbusters over the past couple of months, and have become a multi-billion dollar industry.

And the thing is, there are really no limits to what you can make an NFT and score a HUGE amount of cash.

Take for example Joshua Lapidus, a software developer from Dallas who along with some blockchain experts he knew, wanted to come up with a ridiculous theme for an NFT to just poke fun at how people were buying anything if it was an NFT.

They settled on toilet paper.

Per Dallas News, the project was dubbed Rainbow Rolls, and it launched in October with 10,000 toilet paper NFTs for sale. The limit was later dropped to 1,000 rolls and so far, about 855 rolls have been bought completely through word of mouth.

Rainbow Rolls donated 20% of its sales to the New York-based RIP Medical Debt, which in turned helped to wipe out over $7 million in medical debt by buying debt in bundled portfolios!

And Rainbow Rolls isn't done there.

Proceeds over the next few weeks will now be sent to "efforts supporting the #Ukraine military and efforts to assist refugees," the company posted in a tweet.
