We've all been to restaurants or places of business where you pay on an iPad, and then the person working behind the counter flips it around so we can leave a tip.
Well, new data suggests the very act of tipping on an iPad encourages us to spend more.
According to data found by POS software maker Toast, restaurants and businesses that use the firm's tipping feature receive tips on about 60% of card transactions, and those places of business that use "legacy systems," such as a tip jar or a tip section on a receipt only saw tips on about 28% of transactions.
According to iDrop News, updated tipping systems can significantly add to an employee's paycheck, sometimes even doubling a person's wages.
