Megan Black was in Celina opening Christmas presents with her family when she got an alert that smoke alarms were going off in her Frisco home.
Black called her neighbor Cissy Blaisure who rushed over and not only put out the flames, but discovered the culprit: one of Black's dogs.
Apparently, one of the gates blocking the dogs from the kitchen was left open. Black's three-year-old silver lab Twitch made her way into the kitchen, and helped herself to some cookies that were resting on the stove.
While doing so, Twitch accidentally pressed one of the stove's knobs, turning it on!
Black told Fox 4, "She just pushed so perfectly and turned the stove on."
Blaisure didn't get burned putting out the flames, and was also able to get the dogs out of the house.
Unfortunately, Black and her family will be staying in a rental for the next 4-6 months as the majority of her house has smoke damage. The downstairs has to be completely gutted.
Thankfully though, no one was injured.
