In just a few short months, residents of Frisco and Little Elm will soon be able to have packages delivered right to their front door step via a drone.
A new company called "Wing" will begin tests in the next couple of days on a new service that will allow them to order items from local stores and have them delivered on a drone.
Jacob Demmitt, who is with marketing and communications for Wing, tells WFAA, "From within 10 minutes of the times you pressed order, you'll have the package at your house."
Wing is currently being tested and used in Australia, Finland and a small town in Virginia, with Dallas-Fort Worth being their first major U.S. metropolitan area.
The drones can carry up to 3.3 pounds so only small packages at first, such as coffee or Covid tests which have proven to be the most popular items requested.
Wing hopes to start test flights in a week, with commercial services starting "several months" afterwards.
