We always hear the term "Ugly American" used to describe American citizens acting a fool while visiting other countries.
As offended as you might be, there might be something to it.
According to CNN, two Americans tourists were trapped overnight at the very top of the Eiffel Tower, after the pair had reportedly engaged in "excessive alcohol consumption."
Eiffel Tower security discovered the tourists Monday morning doing their daily rounds before the site opened for business.
According to the SETE (Société d'Exploitation de la tour Eiffel), the operator that runs the site, the tourists were then "quickly removed" and handed over to Paris police. Reports are though that the men presented "no threat," and were not charged with any crimes.
The Paris prosecutor's office said, "As no damage was found, the fine for trespassing on a historic or cultural site was dismissed."
