18-year-old Nicholas Debetes had a couple of run-ins with the authorities last Thursday.

Apparently, a Brevard County deputy tried to pull Debetes over for speeding earlier in the day, but the teen sped away and couldn't catch up.

Later in the evening, the a Titusville police officer tried to pull Debetes over for traversing down the highway at an "extremely high rate of speed," and according to the officer, there were "several locations" where Debetes could've stopped, but he continued on to a trailer park.

After Debetes was placed in handcuffs, he allegedly told officers he could not safely stop on the road because he would have caused a wreck. He said, "If I would have tried to stop quicker I would have crashed the vehicle."

After running the numbers on Debetes' vehicle, the also determined it was stolen!

The 18-year-old is now facing a multitude of charges, including "aggravated fleeing and eluding, operating an unregistered vessel, and reckless driving."
