We've all been sitting around waiting for the alien invasion for how long now? Millenias?
Well according to some experts, we may not have to wait that much longer.
According to a recent analysis from the Institute of Physics of deep space radio waves, humans may come into contact with aliens as soon as 2029!
Researchers from the University of California's Berkeley and Los Angeles campuses compiled a list of stars and planets that will come into contact with Earth's signals in the next century, and deduced that the first message we could get back could come as soon as six years from now.
UC Berkeley astronomer, and the study's lead researcher Howard Isaacson, told Popsci.com, "This is a famous idea from Carl Sagan, who used it as a plot theme in the movie Contact.

Kaitlin Rasmussen, an astrobiologist at the University of Washington not affiliated with the paper, calls this study "an interesting exercise, but unlikely to yield results."
