Unfortunately Dallas residents, it looks like satisfying our Buc-ee's cravings will still require a little bit of a drive.
Dallasites were hopeful though, after a Buc-ee's "Coming Soon" sign appeared in front of a vacant lot in Highland Park.
Unfortunately, it was all a ruse.
Linda Fernandez was headed to lunch when she noticed the sign, posting a picture of it to Nextdoor.
Users were skeptical, though, and Highland Park Police hadn't heard of the sign, either.
An environmental company working on the vacant patch of land didn't know anything about it either, but a spokesman for Buddy Martin Erosion Control told Dallas News that it was "a funny prank."
By Monday afternoon, the sign was no longer there.
A company spokesman confirmed that Buc-ee's, unfortunately, wasn't coming to Highland Park.
"Buc-ee's is not opening a store in Highland Park," Jeff Nadalo, general counsel for the brand, said in an emailed statement. "Our guests will have to travel to one of our other DFW locations for award-winning clean restrooms."
