42-year-old Ronald Lee Rose is being described as an "evil" Florida man.
According to the NY Post, Rose would scour the obituary section of newspapers looking over the names of the deceased or their family members. He would then research their addresses, and break into their homes while they were out attending the funerals. Or, he would break into the homes of the recently deceased, because he knew they would be empty.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Rose took every precaution to make sure it looked like that any personal items were taken by a mourning relative who "wanted something special" to remember the deceased.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said that despite his heinous acts, Rose acted rather cordial during his burglaries. Judd told reporters, "He was very respectful, he would make small cuts, or jimmy the door. He would go in, he stole guns, he stole jewelry, but everything he did was in a respectful manner."
Rose burglarized ten homes, and police investigating the incident know of at least nine other similar incidents between October and February.
He is now facing multiple charges of armed burglary and grand theft.
