Porch pirates are a menace all year long.
However, we are knee-deep in the heaviest season for deliveries, and while we can't stop porch pirates from stealing packages completely, there are steps you can take to put a dent into their activity.
A study by LendingTree found that 35% of people surveyed had packages or deliveries stolen from their doorstep or mailbox, with most of these acts happening at single family homes.
Divya Sangameshwar of Lending Tree wants to inform consumers about the threat of porch pirates, because she was a victim herself. "They came right below the line of sight of my camera, and they just took it off the stairs," she said.
