One of the most infamous scenes from the 1994 classic film Dumb and Dumber sees Harry Dunn and Lloyd Christmas traveling from Nebraska to Aspen, Colorado on a mini-bike, in order to return a lost briefcase to its owner.
Well, childhood friends and motorcycle enthusiasts Zack Courts and Ari Henning wanted to see what this 382-mile journey on a pull-start mini bike was like for themselves.
So they built their own bike, dressed the part, and set out on their own Dumb and Dumber road trip.
In the film, Lloyd brags that he can get "70 miles to the gallon on this hog." For Zack and Ari, they got 54 miles to the gallon, traveling the 382 miles in four days, using seven gallons of gas, and having to replace two tires.
And in the end, it was completely worth it. Zack wrote on Revzilla:
It's a fun rabbit hole to explore, being fans of the movie, but there's no equation to calculate what we took away from this journey. We can only salute the characters Harry and Lloyd, having suffered as they did, and take solace in the closure that comes along with finally answering our question of what it would take to complete the trip. To paraphrase Mr. John Denver, we would be poorer men if we had never tried.
