Erin Rieger and Tyler Lopez fell in love while both working at Medical City Plano as orthopedic trauma nurses. They fell in love during the pandemic, and that was only the start of their relationship.

Obviously the couple felt the effects of the severe winter weather, but their apartment complex also caught on fire! Rieger told NBC DFW, "The hallway to go to my parking garage was filled with smoke. The walls were streaked in smoke tar, and it was pitch black because they cut the power off."

Well, it was outside the burned walls of the Cortland at Stonebriar that Lopez popped the question, and asked Rieger to become his wife. He said, "I was hoping it would be a little more romantic, but I wanted her to be mine, so it worked out."

While Lopez wishes his engagement would have been a little different, he wouldn't have changed it for the world. "I'm like, 'We've already been through enough this week,' and I love this girl so much," he said.

The couple is now looking for a house, and is shooting for a wedding in the spring of next year.
