The nation of Cambodia has a plant called the Nepenthes holdenii that its citizens, mostly women, are obsessed with.

In fact, government officials are warning citizens to stop picking and disturbing the plant for fear of it going extinct.

That's a pretty big ask because this is a pretty unique plant.  It's an attention grabber for sure.

You see, the Nepenthes holdenii has a very….phallic shape.  It looks exactly like a penis.

People won't stop picking and playing with the plant in order to pose with it for social media, and it has the government concerned.

Per the New York Post, Cambodia's Ministry of Environment said, "What they are doing is wrong and do not do it again in the future! Thank you for loving natural resources, but do not pick, [or] they will be ruined!"

The Nepenthes holdenii, which has also been dubbed "the penis plant," has long been a protected species.
