Belong Kitchen is a neighborhood grab-n-go kitchen that employs adults with intellectual and developmental differences located in Houston.
One of the store's employees recently saw Houston Astros player Jose Altuve in the parking lot, and asked for an autograph. Altuve of course obliged, but there was just one problem: nobody had a sharpie.
While he could have gone on about his day, Altuve promised that he would return to the shop the next day, this time equipped with a sharpie, to sign as many autographs as he could.
The store's employee, Ellie Brown, then jokingly said if he was going to come back, bring fellow Astro Carlos Correa with him.
And Altuve did just that.
The pair showed up to the store the next day, swag in tow, and met with employees, took pictures, and signed plenty of autographs.
Belong Kitchen's founder, and mother of Ellie, Kim Brown told ABC13, "We are so grateful they would take time out of their busy schedules to do this for Ellie and our employees. So many people in this town look up to the Astros, and these two stars gave our kitchen the memories of a lifetime."
