An Indiana man named Martin Quintana wanted to open a restaurant called “Famous Taco” in an area strip mall but was denied over rules the mall had that only allowed restaurants that sell "made-to-order or subway style sandwiches.”
So, Quintana filed a lawsuit.
He filed a lawsuit claiming that tacos and burritos are actually just “Mexican-style sandwiches,” and a judge actually ruled in his favor!
Per WANE 15, Judge Craig Bobay wrote in his opinion, “The Court agrees with Quintana that tacos and burritos are Mexican-style sandwiches, and the original Written Commitment does not restrict potential restaurants to only American cuisine-style sandwiches.”
So now is it time to bring up the debate on whether or not a hot dog is a sandwich?
