It wasn't a long time away for Nova, the clouded leopard who escaped from her enclosure at the Dallas Zoo Friday.
However, the story has taken an interesting turn as authorities are investigating whether or not Nova was freed intentionally.
A cut found at her enclosure leads officials to believe this is the case. Not to mention, the police are also currently investigating whether or not a monkey enclosure at the zoo was tampered with as well.
Dallas police told CBS News that investigators determined a "cutting tool" was used to cut an opening in the fencing of Nova's habitat.
Harrison Edell, Dallas Zoo's executive vice president for animal care and conservation, said that zoologists found a tear in the mesh of her two-story habitat. Zoo personnel later discovered a "similar cut" in the fencing of an enclosure which houses langur monkeys, police say, though none of the monkeys got out, however, and all appeared unharmed.
Investigators are unsure if the two incidents are connected, though a criminal investigation is underway.
