If you’re visiting the State Fair over the next few weeks, you might want to take your iPhone out of your pocket or purse and put it somewhere safe.  On the ground.

According to The Verge, the iPhone 14’s new “Crash Detection” feature is doing an excellent job of calling 911…when its users are on a rollercoaster.

The feature is supposed to detect when a person is involved in a car accident and alert the authorities when said event should occur.

However, multiple law enforcement officials have been sent to amusement parks after a rollercoaster’s twists, turns, and hard brakes mimic a car accident.

So next time you go on a rollercoaster, leave the phone behind.

But if you hate to part with it, even for a moment, you can put your phone in airplane mode or disable the feature altogether.
