These are trying political times, but a coffee shop in Irving has come up with an excellent way to help foster a polite discourse between folks who may have different opinions.
Pax and Beneficia started "Coffee and Discourse," in which they offer customers who buy a coffee a FREE coffee if they have a "meaningful conversation with someone you disagree with."
Co-founder Mouyyad Abdulhad said, "When we sit down and actually listen and understand with the intent of listening and learning I think it makes us all better. People are still shy about having these conversations in person and aren't comfortable having these deep conversations in a public space versus behind a screen."
