Back in March 2021, Anthony Ramos had just picked up his pregnant wife, Jeraldin Opina, and 6-year-old daughter from the airport before stopping at a Jack In The Box on John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Houston.
In the 23-minute surveillance video, an argument ensues between Ramos and a couple of employees, and after various items are thrown back and forth, one of the Jack In the Box employees pulls a gun from her waist and starts firing shots and Ramos' vehicle!
Ospina said, "It was a very scary moment. Somebody could've gotten hurt. We almost lost somebody's life over some curly fries."
The employee in question Alonniea Ford was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was given probation and deferred adjudication. The surveillance footage has only just come to light after Ramos and Opina filed a lawsuit against Jack In The Box over a previous conviction against Ford that they believe the restaurant should have caught.
Per WFAA, Ospina and Ramos want Jack In The Box to tighten its hiring policies and pay them for, among other things, emotional distress.
And in case you're wondering, they haven't been back to a Jack In The Box since.
