James Earl Jones is officially calling it a career on one of the most iconic movie characters of all time.
Jones, 91, recently announced that he has retired as the voice of Darth Vader, a role he has performed since the original Star Wars came out in 1977.
However, according to Huff Post, Jones, did sign the rights for Disney and Lucasfilm to use A.I. to digitally recreate his voice for any future projects, meaning that though he is retired, he will seemingly voice Darth Vader into perpetuity.
Darth Vader most recently appeared on the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, of which his dialogue was completely A.I.-generated.
