One of the greatest honors a member of the Dallas Cowboys organization can receive is to be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor.
For too long, two-time winning Super Bowl coach Jimmy Johnson has not seen his name etched with organization greats. Until last night.
Before the Cowboys and Steelers kicked off their matchup in last night's Hall of Fame game, Jerry Jones joined the NFL on Fox panel, which includes his former coach, to announce that Jimmy would finally have his own spot in the Cowboy's highest honor.
Hall of Famer Troy Aikman would later say on the pregame show, per ESPN, "Our successes wouldn't have happened, and every player that was on those teams knows that -- Michael [Irvin] and Emmitt [Smith] and everyone else. It took both of these guys in order for us to achieve. Jimmy couldn't have been the coach he was had it not been for Jerry and his ownership, and Jerry wouldn't have been the owner he was had it not been for Jimmy as the head coach. And we were the beneficiaries of that. I'm just glad to see these two together. It's what we've all been hoping for."
