It was first reported by Jeff Passan of ESPN yesterday that the Rangers were trading All-Star outfielder Joey Gallo to the New York Yankees.
Though the trade hasn't been finalized, in which the Rangers would receive a slew of prospects, it could be made official today. And honestly, the deal makes sense.
The Rangers are in a rebuilding mode, and Gallo will demand a lot of money with his upcoming contract, money which would be used to help rebuild this team into a championship contender.
However, the timing of the trade still remains ironic, as in just a few days on July 31, the Rangers will be celebrating "Joey Gallo Bobblehead Night," and will giving away mini figurines of the Gold Glove winner to the first 15,000 fans.
Looking at the Rangers schedule for the rest of this month.

Following his final game with the Rangers, ahead of potentially an impending trade, Gallo spoke with Emily Jones, where he thanked the fans for their massive support over the years.
This will tug at your heart strings for sure.
