One of the most controversial video game series of all time is Grand Theft Auto developed by Rockstar Games.
In the game, you assume the role of a character with the goal to make as much money as possible through any means necessary. This involved illegal activities, most abundant being stealing cars.
Well, lawmakers in Chicago are now fighting to ban the popular video game because the city has seen a drastic rise in carjackings, and place the blame on Grand Theft Auto in influencing young minds.
Philanthropist and community activistEarly Walker told FOX 32 that violent video games like GTA could be "influencing" the young minds of children, and called for ban the sale of violent video games to children because of the negative impact they can have on developing adolescents.
And the city has seen a recent rise in the amount of carjacking, especially by perpetrators not even young enough to drive, some as young as 14-years-old.
DePaul University psychology professor Leonard Jason said that while the game could be the cause of violence, it is not the only factor.
Grand Theft Auto has previously been banned or censored in five different countries, but never in the United States.
