During a concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA over the weekend, Madonna appeared to be a little frustrated when she a noticed a fan sitting down during her performance.
Madonna even implored the fan to stand up, questioning why they were sitting down while everyone them was dancing.
Unbeknownst to Madonna, the fan could not stand up and dance as they were in a wheelchair.
Madonna backpedaled immediately after realizing her mistake, but people were quick to call her out online for her comments.
One person wrote on X, "Does it matter if they're sitting or standing? they paid for the ticket and took the time to be there? Isn't that enough???"
Another added, "Lots of people need to sit down who don't use wheelchairs, too. This is honestly just gross, ableist behavior." Another wrote, "Appreciate that the person purchased a ticket and came to see you!"
