A 53-year-old man from New York named Mike Itkis is running for Congress as an Independent.
He realistically has no shot at winning, but that isn't going to stop him from doing everything and anything he can to garner more support.
One of the key platforms Itkis is running for is the legalization of prostitution, so to show his support for "sex positivity," Itkis decided to release his own sex tape onto an adult website.
Itkis told City & State the 13-minute tape with adult film star Nicole Sage was a "conversation piece," and that if her were to "just talk about it, it wouldn't demonstrate my commitment to the issue. And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform."
Itkis says the video, titled Bucket List Bonanza, was his first time having sex on camera, though he insisted he's not an exhibitionist.
"I'm very much an introvert," he said. "I'm kind of a nerd who doesn't like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I'm trying to address are so important… I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way."
