An Oklahoma man thought the police cruiser behind him was about to pull him over.
The lights started flashing, and Tyler Smithee of Tulsa decided to take off.
He floored his vehicle, and tried to outrun the cops. Unfortunately for him, he ended up driving into a field, and crashing into a tree. As it turns out, Smithee had a couple of warrants out for his arrest, and tried to do everything he could to avoid the police finding that out.
Well the police found out, arrested him, and to top the whole thing off, the cops weren't even trying to pull him over! The officer turned on his lights and siren to head to an incident nearby. Smithee got himself into trouble for nothing!
The warrant out for Smithee was in connection to a shooting with intent to kill complaint. He was taken to jail, along with Laci Burch, a female passenger who was booked for lying to the police about Smithee's name in order to protect him. Burch also had a warrant out for her arrest in Texas.
