Police officers in St. Louis were responding to calls of shots fired early Saturday morning when they witnessed another crime in the process of being committed, a crime they were directly involved in no less!
While the officers were sitting in their vehicle, a man came up to the door, produced a gun, and tried to carjack them.
Yeah, this is a new one for us too. No doubt someone has tried to steal a police car before, but we might be able to understand if it was unmarked, and especially if nobody was sitting inside of it.
This guy was 0-2 on both counts here.
According to FOX 2. “The officers were able to maneuver out of harm’s way while the suspect simultaneously discovered he was attempting to carjack a fully marked police car. The suspect took off running.”
After a short chase, the officers were able to apprehend the guy and arrest him. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
