A woman named Roxy Jacento really wanted to do it up big for her daughter’s birthday.

Pixie Curtis was turning 11 after all, so why not hold an extravagant evening fool of wonder, laughter, and a flame-throwing mixologist??

Jacento is currently getting slammed online because she threw Pixie Curtis a nightclub-themed party, complete with a DJ, disco balls, balloons, custom-made neon lights, fireworks, and yes, a flame-throwing mixologist.  Jacento even had a stylist prepare everyone before the event, and a photographer to capture images of the magical evening.

The total cost of this birthday party?  $27,000!

But hey, you only turn 11 once, right?

As you can probably understand, the reaction to this party has not been kind.

Per The New York Post, one person wrote, “This is a gross display of wealth.”  A second person snapped  “Some people have too much money…. and out of touch with the real world. Spoilt to the max.”

Jacento is a household name in the family’s native Australia due to her PR Firm, Sweaty Betty, and she has no qualms about throwing the lavish birthday celebration for her daughter.

She said, “The reality is we are here for a short time and I want to make sure that my children have the best opportunities they can.”
