The world of dating in 2020 has been anything but normal, with new "trends" popping up left and right.
And these new trends are just going to continue right on into 2021!
The dating app Plenty of Fish compiled a list of 11 new dating trends hopeful singles needs to be on the lookout for in 2021. These new trends include:
1. Fauci-ing - Not choosing to date someone because you don't believe they are taking the pandemic seriously.
2. Maskerading - You pretend to care about wearing masks to get people to date you.
3. Apocalypsing - Where you treat every relationship like its your last, and try to take things too serious WAY too quick.
4. Zoomlander-ing - Just like the movie Zoolander, where you're more likely to check YOURSELF out on the Zoom call rather than who you are talking to.
5. Sanitizing - When you delete photos and clear all evidence of past relationships off your social media.
6. Endgame-ing - When you accidentally send a racy photo or video to someone you're dating.
7. Folklore-ing - Wanting a fairytale romance so bad, your expectations don't match reality.
8. Waldo-ing - When you only post group photos on dating profiles, so it's hard for people to tell which person you are.
9. Stalk-blocking - When all of your social media accounts are private, so potential suitors can't research you first.
10. Bradying - Like Tom Brady joining the Buccaneers after spending his entire career with the Patriots, this is when you end a long-term relationship even though everyone says it's a mistake.
11. Hey and Pray - This is all about the law of averages, and you just spam a bunch of people with things like "hi" or "hey there," hoping to get a response.
Happy dating!
