Ford is currently working on the patent of a device that will send the information of cars speeding on the road to local law enforcement. And we thought red light cameras were too much.
Vehicles would be equipped with a camera that would detect cars driving faster than the speed limit and send a report with speed data and pictures directly to law enforcement and roadside monitoring units.
According to FOX 59, the car company is just trying to secure the patent at this point and haven't installed any of these cameras into current vehicles.
Ford has also tried to patent a "night drive mode" which would limit vehicle speeds at night for everyone, including those driven by first responders.
