Regardless, the president of the organization has weighed in on a highly disputed debate amongst hot dog fans: is it ok to put ketchup on your hot dog?
Eric Mittenthal is the president of the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, and he said in a press release that no one over 18-years-old should EVER put ketchup on their hot dogs!
Mittenthal said, "If you can vote, it's time for your taste buds to vote for a hot dog without ketchup," further explaining that "the sweetness is just not the ideal match."
President Mitthenthal suggested putting mustard, onions, and sauerkraut on your hot dogs instead.
