A couple with two children felt a little cramped on their 500 square foot home, and pined for having a space all to their own. You would think their master bedroom would serve that purpose, right?

Well apparently, this couple felt overrun by having all their kids' things in the master bedroom, so they just gave it to them. And they say it saved their marriage.

Nathan Hegedus wrote for YourTango that their bedroom was full of their childrens' beds and toys and other possessions, so they decided to move their bed into the closet.

Hegedus wrote, "We need our own room, a place with no cribs or child beds or towers of chewed-on children's books. A place where we can lay at night and read, where we can actually fall asleep together, without little arms here and feet digging into my back there."

Moving their bed into the closet, Hegedus says, "states our intent to each other. We need the retreat. We need to work harder at maintaining our connection."
