If you didn't know, HEB finally opening in North Texas is a pretty big deal.
Though it opened its doors earlier this morning at 6am, people have been lining up since 6pm YESTERDAY to be one of the first customers in the new store.
Jeffrey Walser, a former H-E-B employee who now lives in Rockwall, told Fox 4, "I knew there was going to be a crowd but this is totally insane." Customer Millie Stussy added, "We are so happy that H-E-B is finally here. There's so many things on my shopping list that I just hope I can get a cart."
H-E-B already has locations in Johnson and Ellis counties, though this is the first to open in North Texas.
The San Antonio-based store already has plans to open additional stores in Mansfield, Allen, McKinney, Plano, Prosper, Rockwall, Forney, and Melissa.
Juan-Carlos Ruck, the executive vice president for H-E-B, said, "Part of being able to set up a grocery store is having the real estate. As people have probably heard, H-E-B is a planful company. So, we have been buying real estate as opportunities present themselves with the hope to serve more communities."
H-E-B is located in Frisco at Main Street and Legacy Drive, west of the Dallas North Tollway.
