The crew of an American Airlines flight from DFW to Charlotte, North America was forced to bound and duct tape a passenger to her seat after she repeatedly tried to open the plane's front door while in the air.

TikTok user "@lol.ariee" explained that the trouble began halfway into the two hour flight last Tuesday when flight attendants on Flight 1774 were "running up and down the aisles, frantically kind of like whispering to each other."

They began locking bathrooms and pulling luggage from the overhead bins, but would not offer any explanation to any of the passengers. The pilot finally came on the loudspeaker and asked people to stay in their seats because of "a bad situation in the plane."

Apparently, a female passenger went through a "mental breakdown" according to a flight attendant, and made multiple attempts to get off the plane, and proceeded to bite, spit, and attack flight attendants.

As such, the crew on the flight bound the woman to her seat with duct tape!

A spokesperson for American Airlines told Business Insider "We applaud our crew for their professionalism and quick effort to protect those on board."
