Around 4:30am last Friday morning, a man walked into a gas station in Lincoln, Nebraska, began chatting up the clerk behind the counter, and then tried to rob the place.

The guy pulled a knife and demanded some money, but unfortunately for him, the same time his robbery was unfolding the power to the building went out.

The electric cash register wouldn't open no matter what the clerk tried, so despite his threats and brandished weapon, the robber left the gas station with nothing.

According to the Lincoln Journal-Star, the police are currently investigating the incident.
